The Higgins

The Higgins just returned from a whirlwind but fabulous time at the Canadian Country Music Awards in Winnipeg. The big news is that Eileen was voted by the membership as the 'Special Instrument Player of the Year' for her skills on the mandolin.Plus, they were honoured to be nominated for Group of the Year, and participate in the live Awards Show, aired nationally on both the CBC and CMT. They had a great time performing at various venues during CCMA Week, including FanFest at The Forks, and the Gala Awards Dinner, sharing the stage with many of Canada's top country artists. They especially want to thank all the new friends and fans we made during the week-- hope to see you soon! Next for the Higgins, heading across the country again opening for Randy Travis on Saturday at the Ottawa Civic Arena!

Lester

Congratulations to Lester who has been nominated for in two categories in the Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, Best Country Album and Best Group or Duo!

Danny Mack

It has been nearly three years since Hall of Fame Inductee Danny Mack and his wife Bonnie moved down to Australia. It was just after his ‘Hall Of Fame’ induction in 2005 which by the way, he wears proudly on my sleeve in Oz. He lives in Brisbane where it is sub-tropical with lots of beaches, palm trees, parrots, etc, a real pretty city. He has been playing lots of festivals and concerts since his arrival in Australia,a few being the Tamworth Festival (three years running) and the Toyota Muster (twice). Imagine his surprise when he looked off the side of the stage a week ago during the Gympie Toyota Muster and saw Don Adams sitting in the audience. He said It was great to see Don and do a little catching up as wel as meet and hear Amber Nicholson, she is definitely a feisty and talented young woman. Danny would like to wish everyone lots o’ luck in both the upcoming BC and Canadian Country Music Awards.

Amber Nicholson

Amber just returned from Australia where she performed at the Muster Gympie Festival and now confirmed to re tour down under in Jan 09 at the Tamworth Festival. She also had a very successful showcase at the CCMA's in Winnipeg which had the whole industry buzzing about her energy!
