A passion for music, a passion for singing and a passion to write songs that connect with the audience. “You know you have that connection when they start singing along with ‘your’ song by the second chorus, a song which they have never heard before. There is no greater feeling!”

Singing and playing guitar since the age of 10 in her home town of Peace River, Alberta, Canada, Shelly has honed her musical abilities throughout the years. She was in her first band at the age of 13 and played dances and special events throughout the area. As a young adult, she joined other bands and continued with her music at a ‘hobby’ level. Shelly has written many songs throughout the years but feels the ones on her new CD, I’m Not Lookin’ Back, are her best to date.

This CD is a collection of old time country, new country and powerful ballads. I’m Not Lookin’ Back was recorded at Woodshop Recording Studio on beautiful Vancouver Island where Shelly now resides. Many very talented musicians have contributed to the sound of this album. It is a testimony to the quality of the production and the performances. “I still can’t believe how good it all sounds – the musicians were truly amazing”. Shelly was very involved in the production of this CD along with engineer/co-producer Zak Cohen. We wanted something that could be played on the radio and be able to compete with what is already out there. This will soon be put to the test if we have accomplished what we had set out to do. I’m Not Lookin’ Back is set for official release May 31, 2008.

Although Shelly has years of experience of playing music, she is now trying to break into the “real big” music scene as a new artist. “It’s something I have always dreamed about and now is the right time to do it”.
