Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Sandra Wainwright is no stranger to country music. Starting out in the entertainment business at a young age, Sandra began acting in theater, film and television appearing in various musicals and national television shows. These pursuits lead her to Vancouver, British Columbia where she found and cultivated her true passion: music. Making her mark on the Vancouver music scene under the name Sandra Laratta. She proved to be a powerful force in the world of rock music playing with some of the top musicians in the city, performing locally and across B.C. Although some interest from labels and management Companies had come her way; Sandra was evolving as an artist and as a young woman. She then decided to make a bold move, switching from rock to country. Following her heart, and finding the balance of strong and sweet she recorded an EP co-written by Jesse Wainwright (State of Shock). The result was a full-fledged, heart felt country debut. Following in the footsteps of Shania Twain and Faith Hill, Sandra Wainwright is a breath of fresh air in a world filled with bubble gum pop and angry rockers. She is currently in the studio finishing her upcoming CD, and her first single “All Bad Things” is scheduled for release February, 2008. Together with the BC Country Music Association multi winning and nominated band Smith & Jones, this country town girl is already on her way to big things and she's just getting started.
