PAT CHESSELL |
|
Surrey,
British Columbia born Pat Chessell has been singing for as long as he
can remember being alive. His musical background and his musical
influences of Johnny Cash, George Jones, Hank Williams Sr., Jimmy
Buffett, Blue Rodeo and Chris Isaak have helped him develop an honest
and completely unique approach to country music. Many consider his
musicianship as a “hat-trick”: his expert guitar playing, passionate
vocals and outgoing personality are a combination sure to make this
young artist a well known face on the Canadian country scene. Chessell
gained recognition on the local music scene for his work with a popular
Celtic group which produced a well-loved CD and toured across B.C.
performing in local festivals and at pubs, clubs, and special events. Although
he enjoys listening to almost every genre of music, it is country music
that speaks to Pat. “When I heard Johnny Cash sing on the television
once, I knew that was the direction I wanted to take my music. To take
the attitude, energy, and storytelling elements of country music and use
them to deliver a message and let my audience know who I am”, he says.
He echoes all of his influences, but never emulates. Pat
Chessell is one of Canada’s up and coming new country artists. He will
be playing at many events throughout the remainder of the year and is
currently “sketching” out material for his debut solo C.D. Check him
out now so you could say you knew him way back when... Booking/
