JUSTINE

Biography

Singer-Songwriter Justine Stewart, from Victoria, B.C. has an impressive roster of career highlights and has opened for some of the hottest acts in Country Music, including superstars Brooks and Dunn, Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker, Paul Brandt, Tom Jackson's Huron Carol, and more. The twenty year old country music star has performed at major rodeos, fairs, and music festivals across the country, including B.C.'s Merritt Mountain, where she was a featured artist for Brad Paisley and Dwight Yoakam, as well as the supporting act for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band during Canada's Calgary Stampede.

Building upon the success of her radio single, "It's Easy," that received major and secondary market airplay throughout Canada, the USA, Asia, and Europe, Justine was selected by the Canadian Country Music Association to perform in the industry's coveted CCMA Showcase.

During the Calgary Stampede, backed by her dynamic band, Justine headlined several shows for capacity crowds at Ranchman's, Canada's oldest established honky tonk. Justine notes, "To headline Ranchman's is like a right of passage for country artists. The walls of the place are alive with country music memorabilia and country music history. Many major country stars played there early in their careers. I viewed that experience as a privilege, it was wonderful, and everyone had a great time."

Justine and her band performed in concert with Emerson Drive, the group that toured as Shania Twain's opening act, during her latest North American concert tour. As a result of such opportunities, Justine is making her way into new markets and rapidly gaining the attention of both rock and pop fans.

Patience, persistence, and hard work, have been the driving forces behind Justine's success to date, and she is quick to remind herself that there is no fast track to stardom in the music business. In her own words, "Developing as a singer and songwriter is a very rewarding, but humbling experience. It's multifaceted and there's so much to learn. I love creating new music, live performance, recording, and the business of music. I continue to be inspired by the tenacity, talents, and music of successful women in the music business such as Shania Twain, Dolly Parton, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, and Madonna."

Recently Justine spent time living in Nashville committed to writing songs and recording new music, as well as working on upcoming television and film projects for 2007.

In November 2006 Justine will travel to Beijing, China, to perform in the 90 minute World AIDS Day Concert that will be aired on CCTV at 8pm on December 1, 2006. A DVD of the concert will be available in January 2007, with world-wide distribution in support of the international AIDS foundation.
