JORDAN DOELL |

Smooth,
melodic vocals that embrace a traditional country sound, deep stirring
lyrics that move even the hardest of hearts. This is the unique style of
country singer, Jordan
Doell. Born
in Prince Rupert, BC, Canada in 1968, Doell’s musical career began
early in his life. His father, a gospel performer and recording
artist, began to tutor him as a solo vocalist at the age of seven. When
the family moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan the child prodigy shared his
gift performing at numerous churches and in various special events. After
playing with local bands in Saskatchewan, Doell entered into formal
training at the Saskatoon Conservatory of Music at the age of 19. After
graduation, he moved to Edmonton and experienced his first taste of life
on the road. “At
the time it was hard to find other artists interested in country music,
so I ended up in a rock band, laughs Doell. “It was an amazing
experience with a grueling schedule that taught me a lot about how to
keep my voice in shape”. While
touring throughout Western Canada with various bands in the early 90s,
Doell began to write and perform original material. At 23 he
independently made the move to Vancouver and integrated with the local
music scene. Over the next several years Doell’s powerful voice and
energetic stage presence contributed to the success of some of
Vancouver’s popular independent rock bands.
However, the music no longer allowed him to grow, personally or
professionally. “Country
is where I belong”, says Doell, It’s like all the other bands, and
experiences I was involved with, were a round trip back to the music
that that I connect with” Now
reacquainted with his six string, Doell has been writing, recording and
arranging his new original material.
This summer, the debut of Doell’s first single, “Hey
Jones”, will send waves through Vancouver’s rising west
coast country community. Jordan
Doell has brought his classic country style home. |
