ERIK NIELSEN

Erik Nielsen was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and moved to British Columbia when he was two years old.  As a young child, Erik loved music, but the first indication of his liking for country was at the age of four when "On the Road Again" became his theme song.

His talent emerged in his early teens when he taught himself to play the guitar and wrote his first song.  It was then he started to take his singing seriously.

In just a year Erik went from singing Karaoke for fun to performing at many venues around the lower mainland.  He performs “Country Nights” at the Del Pollo Restaurant in Aldergrove every Wednesday.  Erik has performed at charity events and private weddings as well as at many fairs and festivals in the Fraser Valley, including the Abbotsford’s Downtown Block Party, the Abbotsford Agrifair, the Aldergrove Fall Fair,  the Cameo Music Festival and opening for Aaron Prichett at the Aldergrove Agricultural Association Benefit Concert.  He was  chosen to showcase for the BC Fairs Association in October 2003 where his performance was well received.

In December of 2003, Erik was announced as the winner of the B.C.C.M.A  "Best of B.C."  contest in the male vocalist category.  He will be recording an original song to be released  on the CD "Best of B.C."

2004  will be another exciting year for Erik.  He will be performing at the Abbotsford Berry Festival, Abbotsford Agrifair, Cameo Music Festival and Aldergrove Fall Fair to name a few.

Watch for the release of Erik's first CD the beginning of July.

The music that he performs and his easy-going, good-natured personality touch people who hear him.  Erik has already built a strong fan following of folks who recognize him as a talented singer and performer.  He is an outgoing and fun loving young man whose sole desire is to please his audience singing the music he loves.

Watching Garth Brooks gave Erik the desire to perform, but traditional country music and the stories that it tells, put country in Erik’s heart to stay.
