“Whatever you are by nature, keep to it; never
desert your line of talent. Be what nature intended you for and you
will succeed.” Sydney Smith (1771 - 1845)
The British essay writer Sydney Smith had it right. We have a culture
filled with souls who were too afraid to answer their first calling,
denying themselves their right place in the world of their peculiar
talent, and that world the benefits those talents generate.
When it comes to precocious British Columbia vocal powerhouse Emily
Adams, this will not be the case.
Only 14 years old at the time of this writing, Emily knows what she
wants, and she’s been given all the technical tools she needs to
accomplish it, in addition to an enthusiastic and supportive family
environment. Emily possesses a big voice, and a big spirit. She has
unselfishly brought her gift to a variety of community social events
in the Greater Vancouver area.
Emily cites a broad range of vocal influences, and centers on country
music as her stylistic core, a genre she gravitates to with enormous
ease. She has surrounded herself with the pristine talents of Canadian
star vocalist/vocal coach/lyricist Glenda Rae, producer/percussionist
Tony Chamberlist, and composer/arranger/multi-instrumentalist Miles
Black, with the intent of producing a recording that will document her
present progress.
There is a star under construction, and her name is Emily Adams.
