2004 Rex Howard
Rex Howard (aka RUSTY SHORE) is a Canadian musician born in Thunder Bay Ontario, who joined the Backstage Club in 1990. Rex is a very accomplished pedal steel guitar player and vocalist. He is listed in the international “Who’s Who” published in Cambride, England. He started playing music professionally in 1948 and has performed with such well known names as: Hank Williams Sr., Ernest Tubb, Jim Reeves, Kitty Wells, Dave Dudley, Bootleg, Freddie Hart, David Frizzell, Marty Robbins, Stonewall Jackson, Little Jimmy Dickens, John Western, George Morgan, Tex Ritter, Smiley Burnett, Leon Mcauliff, Marvin Rainwater, The Buckaroos, Myrna Lorrie, Spade Neilsen & The Gamblers, Scotty Stevenson, Wilf Carter, Lucille Starr, Tommy Hunter, Gerry King, King Ganam, Saddlestone, The Rhythm Pals, Bourbon Cowboys, Lloyd Ferguson & the Sundowners, Nite Moves. Rex has logged many hours on the road and in studio and is truly a seasoned musician and performer. Rex has recorded and released the following singles from his latest album, The Last Outlaw which have charted very well overseas. Rex's steel guitar instrumentals "ROADSIDE RIDE"; "SLEEPWALK"; and “WINTER ROSES” have and still do enjoy frequent play on CBC Radio across Canada, and these days Rex is still playing on the local circuit. |
