HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE CANADIAN SWEETHEARTS |
The Canadian Sweethearts began touring Canada in
1953. In 1956 they moved to Los Angelus to hone their craft.
Legendary Art Satherly heard them in a club, liked
them, and had them sign a contract with prominent Hollwood agent Marty
Landou. They were signed to "Country America" TV show and worked on
several other notable TV shows. On one of these shows they met noted
song writer and performer Dorsey Burnett. He was instrumental in their
contract with A & M Records.
They recorded, "Hootenany Express & Rocky Mountain
Special" which they co-wrote. Also recorded "I'm leaving it all up to
you, Freight Train and Say you love me" . They recorded Country & Rock
& Roll music. Bob recorded some guitar solos like "Tarantele & Highland
Lassie".
In 1967 they signed a recording contract with Billy
Sherrill on C.B.S. Epic.
Appeared on the Grande ole Opry with Hank Snow in the 60's.
They toured the States, Europe, Asia, South Africa
and Canada where they were well accepted.
Bob passed away in 1990 in Los Angelus with their
son Robert Fredrickson by his side.
